How I got started
In 2021 my grandmother was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and brain tumours. My family knew that for her own mental health and comfort she should stay in her own home for as long as possible. We also realized that in order for that to happen with her worsening condition, she would need some help with the everyday tasks.
A calling was found...
My family needed someone to be available throughout the day to help my grandmother with daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, companionship, getting to appointments, ensuring she was taking her medications and doing the grocery shopping. As a family, we decided that I would be a perfect fit. The bonus is that I really loved doing it! By having taken on this role, my grandmother was able to stay at home an additional for 2.5 years!
